KEVIN DOUGLAS

Kevin Douglas is a playwright and screenwriter. He received his B.F.A in acting from The Theatre School at DePaul University. After graduating Kevin took writing and improvisation classes at The Second City.

Kevin is an Ensemble member of, the Regional Tony Award-winning company, Lookingglass Theatre where his play Thaddeus and Slocum: A Vaudeville Adventure had its World Premiere. Thaddeus and Slocum garnered Kevin a Black Theatre Alliance Award for best writing of a play. Kevin’s play Plantation! Directed by David Schwimmer had its World Premiere at Lookingglass.

Kevin has two play commissions at Lookingglass. He also has a commission with Oregon Shakespeare Festival which will intersect comedy and transmedia. His short Plays “Cautiously Optimistic” and “Chickens Be Roostin” were in both Lower Depth Theatre’s Pandemic Play Festival and BIPOC Voting Plays Festival respectively.

He is currently developing one of his plays for television. He co-writes and performs with his better half in a web series on YouTube and IG titled The Tam and Kevin Show. Checkout brand new episodes on Youtube/secondcitynetwork
