JENNIFER BERRY

Jennifer is an award winning writer/director and sometimes solo performer.

Jennifer Berry’s play “Big Pharma” about the rise of the anti-depressant drug industry and the loss of her generation of women was commissioned by BmoCa in Boulder, CO in 2003 and  went on to tour for five years.

Her play “Ojalá” which was produced in 2010 @ Casa 0101 in Los Angeles  was optioned as a screenplay.

“Big Pharma” was featured on PBS and NBC.

Her feature “The Exchange” was released in 2019. It was the opening short film at The Madrid International Film Festival. It was also honored at the Hollywood Reel Film Festival and The LA Women’s in February 2020.

In March 2020 a little virus put a snag in other festival screenings.

Her play “The Maid’s Daughters” was a finalist at Eugene O’Neill Theater Conference in 2016 & 2017.

Her Television pilot “Playing with Fire” was a finalist at The Orchard Project Showrunners Program in 2019 & 2020.

She recently received mentorship from Jerry Rees in the area of trans-media, virtual reality, and themed based storytelling for theme park and museum attractions. Under Mr. Rees’s guidance, I created a theme based, experience entertainment virtual piece for kids.

Her work has been featured in Ms. Magazine, HowlRound, and several other feminist publications.
