CAROLYN KRAS

Carolyn Kras is a writer whose honors include the Visionary Playwright Award, Fulbright Fellowship, Hamptons International Film Festival Screenwriters’ Lab Selection, and First Place Alfred P. Sloan Screenwriting Award.  She was Playwright in Residence at Selladoor Worldwide in London, where her play The Subject had a United Nations Orange Day Reading.  Carolyn’s plays have been produced or developed at Antaeus Theatre Company, The Blank Theatre, Centenary Stage Company, Chicago Dramatists, Chicago New Work Festival, Cypress New Play Festival, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Live Girls! Theater, Pittsburgh Irish & Classical Theatre, Theater Masters, 20% Theatre Company Chicago, The Road Theatre Company, Stage Left Theatre, Williams Street Rep, and more.

Her screenplay Magnetic is in development with producers Diane Nabatoff and Alexander Ross with Jon Amiel (Entrapment) attached to direct.  Carolyn’s screenplay Next Gen is in development at Noggin Sauce Pictures.

She has been a writer-in-residence at Ucross Foundation, Hawthornden Castle, Ragdale Foundation, American Antiquarian Society, and Anderson Center at Tower View.  Carolyn is an alum of the NBC Page Program and Women in Film Mentorship Program.  She has a B.A. in Drama from Washington University in St. Louis and an M.F.A. in Dramatic Writing from Carnegie Mellon University.  www.carolynkras.com
