Wendy Weiner is a playwright and TV writer. Her work walks the line between comedy and drama, using humor to crack open the complexities of being a woman in our culture, and to explore the ways gender roles affect people of all sexes. Wendy’s writing for TV includes an original pilot for ABC Family and TV movies for ABC Family and Disney. Her work has also been optioned by AwesomenessTV, and she has written two webseries, both produced by Alloy Entertainment. Her play Hillary: A Greek Tragedy With a (Somewhat) Happy Ending – in which a young Hillary Clinton gets caught up in a war between Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom, and Aphrodite, the goddess of love – had a workshop at New York’s Public Theater; received its premiere in New York from New Georges theater company; and has gone on to productions in New Mexico, Arkansas, Maryland, Ohio, Texas, Illinois, Iowa, and North Carolina. Hillary is published by Dramatists Play Service. Wendy has been an artist-in-residence at the Djerassi Resident Artists Program and Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. She received her MFA in dramatic writing from NYU, where she was named a departmental fellow and received a full-tuition fellowship.
