MINITA GANDHI

Minita (she/her/hers) is a Mumbai born, Chicago bred, Los Angeles based writer/actress/activist.

Minita is most known for her critically acclaimed solo-show Muthaland which was workshopped at Silk Road Rising, selected for the Ignition Festival at Victory Gardens, and Jeff Award-nominated for Best New Work and Best Solo Performance for its World Premiere at 16th Street Theater. Muthaland has been featured at the CAATA Festival at Oregon Shakespeare Festival, The StateraArts Conference at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, and the Anne Frank Social Justice Festival. It has toured colleges/universities nationally.
Acting credits include-Regional Theater: Arena Stage, Lookingglass Theater, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, Indiana Repertory Theater, Florida Studio Theater, Victory Gardens Theater, Berkeley Repertory Theater, and originated the role of (Priya) in Rajiv Joseph’s, The Lake Effect. TV: Chicago Fire, Chicago PD (Dr. Prospere), Crisis (Bashira Rind), Onion News Network (Nina Shankar), Brown Girls (Mussarat). She is a National Co-Director for the StateraArts Mentorship Program, an advocate for survivors of sexual assault, a RYT- 250 Yoga Therapist and Intuitive Healer. www.minitagandhi.com
