JOSH LEVINE

JOSH LEVINE

Josh Levine is a stage and screen writer with the heart of a golden retriever and an unhealthy obsession for funny women.

For his work as a playwright, Josh received the Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize for Comic Playwriting for HOMEMADE, and his ten-minute play PERFECT was a Heideman Award Finalist. In addition, Josh’s play, I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU, is published by Smith & Krause in The Best Ten-Minute Plays 2014. A childhood (and adulthood) dream came true when Josh was hired as a Show Writer for Disney Parks and Resorts to create a 20-minute musical revue which was performed in the lobby of the now defunct Tower of Terror Attraction at Disneyland. Josh’s plays have been produced and developed at Primary Stages, Chicago Dramatists, Blank Theater Company, Bailiwick Repertory, Orlando International Fringe Festival, Red Stage Theatre, From The Ground Up, Bakerloo Theatre Project and Mad Cow Theater, among others. For his work in TV, Josh currently serves as Executive Assistant to Natasha Rothwell, and he previously served as Script Coordinator on CBC/Pop’s binge-worthy SCHITT’S CREEK and as Writers Assistant on the final season of USA’s critically acclaimed comedy PLAYING HOUSE. He also produced the award-winning short film THE NEW 35 and co-created the web series EXTRAS ON THE STRIP featured on WhoHaHa. Josh received his MFA in Playwriting from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, where he later taught Screenwriting, and his BFA in Playwriting from The Theatre School, DePaul University.

As a new father and self-proclaimed Disnerd, Josh’s favorite new pastime is whisking his little daughter away to Disneyland between her naps.
