CHANEL GLOVER

Chanel Glover (Florida A&M University BA | Tulane Law School JD | Ohio University MFA | Hunter College MSEd) is a former lawyer and special education teacher, whose work centers black queer characters, and stories exploring social justice.

Chanel was a featured playwright in terraNOVA Collective’s Groundbreakers Playwrights Group (2015). She’s screenwriter for the Sex Is a God Thing (2019) short, which premiered at the Black Harvest Film Festival (2019), Pan African Film Festival (2020), ClexaCon (2020), NewFest (2020), among others. Chanel is also the co-creator/co-writer for Sasha & Condi, which premiered at UrbanWorld Film Fest (2020), LA Shorts International Film Festival (2020), among others. Chanel was a playwright fellow at Lambda Literary’s Writers Retreat for Emerging LGBTQ Voices (2019). Her scripts have advanced to the quarter & semifinals of the WB Television Writers’ Workshop, the ScreenCraft Drama Competition, among others. Chanel serves as Creative Assistant for Cheryl Dunye’s production company, Jingletown Films.
